Optical filters for medical technology

Coating glass changes glass properties, which makes it possible to manufacture special optical components for medical devices. This results in a wide range of applications in the fields of diagnostics, lighting, photography and image reproduction.

Coating options

Float glass, Borofloat, clear glass and glass ceramic are the substrates that we coat – in varying thicknesses – using the sol-gel method. Highly homogeneous and ultra-thin layers can be achieved with this dip coating technique. The filters produced as a result are insensitive to heat and UV rays and also do not age.

We manufacture our filters in different sizes and in round and square shapes as well as in custom shapes on request. Be sure to take advantage of our consulting service as well.

Our standard optical filters for medical technology

Range of applications

Anti-reflection coatings (AR filters) on protective glass in laser devices improve performance; when placed in front of light sources, they increase brightness compared to uncoated protective glass.

Conversion filters are used for colour matching of light; in microscopy they are used for contrast enhancement in illumination with cold light and in medicine they are used for illuminating operating areas.

UR filters are used, among other things, in dentistry for the UV curing of dentures. If you require further specifications or support with solving problems, please get in touch with us.
